Fibroids Treatment
67Are There Alternatives to Surgical Fibroids Treatment?
If you suffer from ovarian
cysts, then you have probably been told by your doctor about the various
surgical fibroids treatment options.
These surgeries, while mostly
effective and provide immediate relief, can have side effects.
The very real fibroids symptoms can leave you in constant pain.
Surgical options include uterine artery embolization fibroids removal.
This is a fairly new procedure and it basically blocks the blood flow
to the fibroid. It is not yet known if this procedure has negative
affects on a woman’s ability to have a child.
The uterine fibroid embolization
is performed by a radiologist and the patient is sedated, but remains
conscious throughout the procedure. A small incision is made near
the groin area and a catheter is inserted into an artery which is fed
to the uterus. Once the catheter reaches the uterus, a mixture
of x ray dye and small plastic particles are injected which causes the
blood supply to the fibroid to become blocked.
The problem with this type
of uterine fibroids treatment procedure is that it can cause a lot of
cramping, requiring an overnight hospital stay and pain medication.
Although this procedure can improve and reduce symptoms, about five
percent of women will suffer complications. It is also reported
that about 27 percent of women have a return of their fibroids within
six years.
Uterine fibroids can affect
as many as one woman in four over the age of forty. They are basically
benign tumors, but they cause plenty of pain and suffering, causing
many women to seek fibroids treatment.
There are also other fibroids
treatment options in addition to surgical options, including medications,
the insertion of a medicated intra-uterine device or IUD and a procedure
known as high intensity focused ultrasound. The problem is that
many women find that none of these procedures are effective and they
turn to the ultimate solution – a hysterectomy. This is of course
not something a woman wants to do if she wishes to have children.
There are many homeopathic
treatment alternatives, including herbal remedies and treatments and
reki. It is also important to reduce and eliminate stress to control
the levels of hormones, ensure proper liver function and change the
diet to eliminate sugar, red meat, dairy products, processed foods,
saturated fats and alcohol.
Consuming stimulants such as coffee has the same effect as stress, so it is also important to reduce or eliminate the consumption of those. Increasing the consumption of more natural and whole foods and good essential fatty acids can go a long way to improving your entire body environment and giving it the tools it needs to recover. Taking control of your body and making it a less toxic environment will help you on the road to recovery.
